PolarChoice Line of Microphones

The PC Boundary mic is a low-profile microphone that can be used with standard and automatic mic mixers. The PC Boundary mic is a member of the EV PolarChoice™ series of multi-pattern microphones. The multi-pattern versatility of the PolarChoice™ microphone makes it a true “problem solver." With one non-directional and three directional polar patterns available, PolarChoice™ microphones are ideal for virtually any installation. Of particular interest is the figure-8 pattern that allows for miking opposite sides of a table with only one microphone, while dramatically reducing ambient noise. The PC Boundary mic features a large, soft-touch mute button. The mute button can be configured for push-on/push-off, push-to-talk, or push-to-mute functions. Mute switch can be easily programmed without disassembling the microphone. The microphone can also be programmed live or muted when power is initially applied (when in toggle mode). Additionally, a switch on the bottom of the mic quickly converts the PC Boundary to automatic mixer mode. In this mode, audio is always on.

The new PolarChoice Boundary Satellite from Electro-Voice is the most unique and flexible wireless boundary microphone available today. In any situation or installation, the PC Boundary Sat provides a microphone solution you never thought possible.    The newest addition to the unique PolarChoice family, the PC Boundary Sat features a selectable polar pattern. Via a simple four-position rotary switch, you can choose between four patterns - omni, cardioid, super cardioid, and figure-8 - to optimize audio pick-up for any acoustic environment.    The PC Boundary Sat design works just like its older brother - the world's first wireless podium microphone - the PolarChoice Satellite. The PC Boundary Sat works with any EV and Telex wireless bodypack transmitter. Simply install the bodypack transmitter into its custom-designed compartment beneath the mic housing. Because the PC Boundary Sat works with any EV and Telex system, you can select the level of wireless performance required.  In addition, the beltpack can be easily removed, making it perfect for rentals, meeting facilities, or house-of-worship applications. The wireless beltpack can be used with the Boundary Sat, or the beltpack can be removed and used with lav or head-worn mics. The transmitter is not just designed for  wireless boundary operation!   In 1997, EV introduced the PolarChoice podium mic, the first pattern selectable, gooseneck microphone. In 2003, EV expanded that offering to include the PC Satellite, the first wireless podium mic. Today, EV has taken these two concepts to the next level - a wireless boundary mic with selectable polar patterns. The PC Boundary Sat is another example of the microphone innovation customers have come to expect from EV install products.

The PolarChoice Desktop is a free-standing, podium-style microphone firmly anchored by its elegant base. Select one of four polar patterns - omni, cardioid, super-cardioid, or hyper-cardioid - via an easy-to-access switch. All patterns feature identical voicing, eliminating the need to retune the sound system. The PC Desktop can also be interfaced to an auto-mixer for use in large, difficult, multiple-microphone installations. The free-standing, movable, PolarChoice Desktop can be used anywhere a gooseneck or podium-style mic is needed, but where permanent installation is not possible, required, or desired. Whether for a boardroom conference table, videoconference facility, training room, house-of-worship altar, or even on a podium - anything is possible with the PolarChoice Desktop. The PC Desktop is available in five-inch, 12-inch, and 18-inch gooseneck versions.

PolarChoice, the first podium microphone to allow polar pattern selection (omni, cardioid, supercardioid & hypercardioid), is now available in three different versions: XLR, Flange Mount, and the versatile PolarChoice Plus.  Each version of the PC Podium mic is available with 12-inch and 18-inch gooseneck lengths, and the PC Plus also comes in a five-inch length. And every PolarChoice variety features a smooth and uniform response, excellent sound quality, an extended low-frequency response, a switchable high-pass filter, and EV's exclusive MultiportTM windscreen, which virtually eliminates "P" pops.

The PolarChoice Satellite brings the benefits of wireless to the boardroom, conference center, or podium. The PolarChoice Satellite is a free-standing, gooseneck-style microphone, firmly anchored by its elegant base. This low-profile foundation hides PolarChoice Satellite’s most powerful feature - space for a wireless transmitter. Turn the base over to reveal the specially designed compartment for housing a Telex or Electro-Voice bodypack transmitter (sold separatly). Connect the microphone to the bodypack, set up the wireless channel, and place the PC Satellite anywhere an easy-to-use microphone is required. No longer must you cut holes in tables, run long cables, or compromise the architectural integrity of an installation. With the Polar Choice Satellite, anything is possible.
